"Minimalism with an Edge is about more than just an aesthetic – as conscientiously designed as it may be. It's also informed by the utilitarianism of urban living (big bills, small closets!), by the ethos of buying fewer pieces, but better ones: the hard-working, seasonless wardrobe staples that can take you from day to night in an instant. At Marcella, we will never stop focusing on setting trends rather than following them. Our timeless aesthetic allows our collections to stay alive and relevant beyond several months (and with many favorite pieces for years on end...), minimizing dead stock and waste. As such, we stand as a proud, sustainable alternative to "disposable" or "fast" fashion - both in terms of design philosophy and production approach." (from marcellanyc.com)

"The ultimately sleek 2-in-1 silhouette, our Molly Swim Top can be worn two ways. First, as a bandeau-style bikini top with a gathering detail at the side. Second, with the additional flourish of a single strap across one shoulder for minimalist asymmetry in the city. For the tan line-conscious, the strap can also be worn off the shoulder. Fully lined and fashioned from high-stretch European swim fabric, Molly is lightly padded at the bust with removable pads for coverage." (from marcellanyc.com

"Narah Soleigh is a German brand founded by Katrin & Finn in 2019. In a world where 150 billion new garments are produced every single year, often using harsh chemicals and putting underpaid garment workers at risk, the damage of the fashion industry is undeniable. As this brand is redefining the values of fashion, we absolutely love working with them. Being an independent, self-funded company enables them to focus on values that really matter to them and us.

Since Portugal is known for its traditional textile industry that values quality, craftsmanship & fair working conditions, their swimwear & garment production takes place in small socially responsible factories in northern Portugal. Nearly 100% of the energy needed for the production of their swimwear is generated by the factories' own solar panels."

"TURNING TRASH AND ORGANIC MATERIALS INTO TREASURES"

"What we love the most is that their bikinis are made from ECONYL® (regenerated nylon), a yarn made of abandoned fishing nets, fabric scraps & industrial plastic from landfills and oceans worldwide.

Most of their apparel is made with 100% certified organic cotton. Unlike organic cotton, conventional cotton uses an estimated 25% of the world’s total pesticides. Those often cancer-causing pesticides tend to contaminate surrounding rivers & lakes and make their way into the groundwater. Compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic chemicals as well as is softer, lasts much longer and is better for the environment. It’s also hypoallergenic, meaning it’s well-suited for people with allergies or specific chemical sensitivity." (from Narah Soleigh)

  • Size Range: S-XL

  • Price Range: $77-$154

  • Materials: using ECONYL® regenerated nylon, a yarn made of abandoned fishing nets, fabric scraps & industrial plastic from landfills and oceans all over the world.

  • Cause: Quality, craftsmanship & fair working conditions, socially responsible. Nearly 100% of the energy needed for the production of their swimwear is generated by the factories' solar panels.

HOURS OF DELICATE HANDWORK

"Since 2019, Luciee carefully crafts styles from natural materials with a focus on clean design, subtle texture, minimal, feminine and timeless detailing. Luciee provides fair livelihood opportunities to the artisans on the island of Bali, creating long-term relationships.

Lucie – the wonderful woman behind this brand - grew up in a communist country, where she didn’t see excess or choice. As a teenager, she made her own clothes. Aged 20 she based herself in London. Little did she know that her decision would lead to a decade-long and fulfilling career in Europe and Asia, supporting adolescent youth around the world. At Luciee they only make what they sell and flip the supply chain on its head. They produce in small batches, encouraging women to consume thoughtfully for a harmonious relationship with The Earth." (From Luciee About)

SOCIAL COMMITMENTS CLOSE TO THEIR HEARTS

"Since Luciee believes in true partnerships, and the impact of local organizations, they allocate 5% of their profits to ROLE, and The East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP). Both organizations support impoverished and at-risk young women. ROLE does this through vocational training in tourism and hospitality. EBPP offers a holistic youth empowerment program preventing early pregnancy and child marriage.
