I invite you to do the same! I believe defining your Core Values is a key element that will bring lasting success.

Consider this the very first step of your Conscious Fashion Design (and personal development) journey. Phase 1 begins with Design Origins, which doesn't happen without some "Observation". Before any design or development starts, we need to have a solid foundation of Values, Mission & Purpose, which requires observations of both ourselves, our business & the market.....so let's begin!

Phase 1 of the design journey

Discovering your core values can be a powerful personal growth and development tool. Core values are the guiding principles that define your character, beliefs, and priorities, and they can help you make important decisions and navigate life's challenges with clarity and purpose. However, identifying your core values can be challenging, requiring self-reflection, introspection, and honest self-assessment. Follow the suggestions below to find yours.

Here's a list of steps to help define your values:

  1. Start by brainstorming a list of values that are important to you. Think about the qualities and characteristics you admire in others and try to identify what values they represent.

  2. Narrow your list to the top 10 values that resonate with you the most. You may need to do some reflection and prioritization to determine which values are most important to you.

  3. For each value, write a brief description of what it means to you and why it is important. Be specific and use examples to help clarify your thinking.

  4. Consider how your values relate to different areas of your life, such as your relationships, work, hobbies, and personal development. Are there certain values that are more relevant or important in certain areas?

  5. Look for patterns or themes among your values. Are there any values that seem particularly connected or related to each other? Are there any values that conflict with each other?

  6. Reflect on whether your current actions and decisions align with your values. If there are areas where your actions don't align with your values, consider what changes you could make to bring them into alignment.

  7. Revise your list of values as needed over time. As you gain new experiences and perspectives, your values may shift or evolve. Regularly revisiting and reflecting on your values can help you stay aligned with what matters most.

*Now apply these values to your business; they should align!
