In this session we will delve into the world of fibers, yarns, and textiles, exploring their origins, properties, and characteristics, particularly sustainable options. Students will gain insights into both natural and artificial fibers, learn about the environmental impact of different textiles, and discover the best fabric choices currently available for integrating sustainability into their fashion brands. Participants will gain knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about fabric selection and effectively incorporate sustainable materials into their apparel brands.

"As a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the design and production industry, I've spent half my life honing my skills in Asia. With a passion for innovation and creativity, I've mastered the full design and production process, from fabrication to design conception and execution. My expertise spans multiple markets, and I've worked closely with both brands and manufacturers to deliver tailored solutions. I'm proud to have founded Josie Chen Range, a luxury jewelry brand, and Cicero Design, a design and production consultancy. My strengths lie in communication, organization, and understanding customer needs.
I thrive in handling the entire product creation process, from technical specs to patterns, sampling, and production. My extensive network includes OEM and ODM suppliers and factories in China and Southeast Asia. Now, I'm excited to bring my expertise to Los Angeles, where I'm eager to continue learning and growing as a professional and expanding my businesses."
